Condition
The figure has several areas of restoration. The proper left arm has been extensively repaired including at the shoulder, forearm and all fingers. The proper right arm has been restored at the shoulder. Parts of the glazing were refreshed to succesfully conceil these restorations. There are some slight irregularities and minor inclusions visible on the surface, particularly around the proper right upper leg. There are some small areas of pitting to the glazing at the arms due to the difficulty of firing such a large piece of porcelain. There is some minor dirt to the surface consistent with age. Overall the condition of the corpus is good.

Catalogue Note
This is a rare polychromed example of the Doccia model of the Christo Vivo. In its late-Baroque exuberance it represents the equivalent of the bronze sculpture of artists such as Missimiliano Soldani-Benzi and Giuseppe Piamontini.
