Condition

Overall the condition of the bronze is very good. There is some minor wear consistent with age. Some of the original core pins and plugs have corroded. There is a minor casting flaw to the hair on top of the head. The stone of the socle has some minor chips and nicks, particularly at the lower front edge.

Catalogue Note

The figure has been exhibited in the Grünes Gewölbe, Dresden, as a work of the circle of Adriaen de Vries, from after the second World War until recently, when it was returned to its owner.
