Condition
Overall the condition of the ivory is good. There is some dirt and wear consistent with age. There are naturally occurring cracks to the surface and naturally occurring irregularities are visible in the ivory between the legs of Christ. The arms were carved separately and joined at the shoulders, the proper left shoulder was glued. There is a plug which covers the tusk's root canal visible on the top of the head. The right side of the perezonium was carved separately. There are fissures at both wrists, the proper right shoulder and on the abdomen. The tops of the index and middle fingers of the proper left hand and the middle finger of the proper right hand are restored.
