Condition
Painting has been lightly wax relined. the paint surface has been generally well preserved and there is very good detail throughout. some slight thinnesses are noticeable in some parts of the buildings at the left side and in the distant architecture. ultraviolet light shows retouches to the street surface, here and there on figures and on buildings in distance. some retouches in sky, mostly at upper left. painting is under a slightly yellowed varnish, but is very presentable and can be hung as is.
In an ornately carved and gilt wood frame.

This view depicts from the rear the so-called "House on the Three Canals" (Driegrachtenhuis) which still stands today. The house is situated at the point where the Oudezijds Voorburgwal, Oudezijds Achterburgwal and Grimburgwal meet.
