Provenance
Anonymous sale ('The Property of a Private Collector'), London, Sotheby's, 5 July 2007, lot 123, where acquired by the present owner.
Condition
The panel support is flat and stable. The paint surface is quite well preserved, with some minor restored losses, each less than 0.3 cm in width, the upper left forehead, his left cheek, and to the left of the mouth. There is some slight abrasion to the background but overall the painting is in good condition and would benefit from a light surface clean.
