Description
- Portrait of a Young Man
- oil on panel
Condition
The support consists of a single stable panel with a very slight, almost imperceptible, convex bow. The paint surface is secure with a few tiny scattered losses. A vertical hairline crack, approx 2 cm, is just visible to the right of the sitter's head and the paint is slightly lifting here, with one tiny loss. The paint surface otherwise appears in good condition and is under a glossy varnish which has started to blister slightly in the lower right hand corner. Although this varnish does not impede appreciation of the fine details of the brushwork it does hamper effective inspection under UV light.
Offerd in a gilt wood and plaster frame.
