Condition
The catalogue illustration is representative for the actual painting.
The canvas has a slightly firm relining. The paint surface is under a slightly discoloured varnish. Areas of abrasion are apparent and subsequent (somewhat crude) retouchings are visible to the naked eye, e.g. along all edges, in the sky, in the figure most right. Inspection under UV light reveals additional areas of retouching, e.g. in the lower foreground, but the horses and other figures appear fairly preserved.
Offered in a later parcel gilt wood frame in good condition.
