Condition
The actual painting is deeper in tone than the catalogue illustration suggests. The single panel is sound and lightly bevelled on all sides. The paint surface is a bit thin in some areas and is under a slightly dirty and unevenly cleaned varnish layer. No damages are apparent. Minor retouchings can be observed in the sky. Inspection under UV light reveals more extensive retouchings in the sky, and small scattered retouchings, e.g. in the centre background and in the figures centre right.
Offered in a plain black ebonised wood frame in good condition. (MW)
