Condition
The colours in the catalogue are representative of those in the painting, even if the original is a little warmer in tones.
The panel, that retains its original thickness (about 2,5 cm), is made up of four planks and has a slight convex bow.
The painting is offered in a carved gilt XVII Century-style frame.
To the naked eye no major restoration or damages are visible.
The thick varnish layer impedes clear inspection under ultra-violet light, but few minor areas of repair are visible in the upper right corner, upon the sitter left shoulder, on his left cheek and on his left hand
