The catalogue illustration is representative of the painting, if not a little over-exposed. The canvas has been relined and it is offered unframed. To the naked eye no major restoration or damages can be seen. Inspection under ultra-violet light reveals tiny brush-pointed pictorial retouchings and some areas of repair, most evident are in the centre upper margin, on the face and the bust of the man holding the torch, a thin longitudinal line going from this figure to the man at the left of Christ and some other minor scattered.
