The catalogue illustration is representative of the painting, if not a little over-exposed; the painting appears slightly warmer in tones. The canvas has been relined and it is mounted in a gilt XVII Century-style frame, with few losses of guilt. No major restoration or damages are visible to the naked eye and the painting appears in good condition. The thick varnish layer impedes clear inspection under ultra-violet light, but pictorial strengthenings in the dark areas and some minor scattered retouchings are visible.
