  • Image: 220 by 154mm; 8 5/8 by 6 1/8 in
  • Sheet: 530 by 420mm; 20 7/8 by 16½in
Woodcut, 1922, third (final) state, signed in pencil, from the total edition of 200, on laid paper, with full margins, in good condition apart from a fox mark in the left margin, away from the image, pale light-staining

Condition

The print is in good condition as catalogued. The fox mark at left is dark but small and away from the image. Additional pale fox marks are visible verso, not showing through to the recto. Exposure to light has slightly darkened the paper tone throughout, apart from two small rectangular areas in the upper margin at left and right which were not affected due to prior hinges. Two very faint areas of adhesive remains are visible at the upper sheet edge recto at left and right. Faint cockling and minor handling creases appear at left and right. There is a vertical printer's crease in the left margin extending circa 3 inches and visible only in a strong raking light; this is inherent in the printing process and not a condition issue.
