Description

  • Bernardino Luini
  • The Virgin of the Columbine
  • oil on canvas laid down on board

Condition

The canvas has been laid down on a flat panel. The paint surface has been extended 2 cm along the right edge, it is secure with some craquelure, under a dirty varnish and has become flattened. Several areas would appear to have been repaired, though due to the thick varnish it is not possible to confirm with UV as only a few stregnthenings flouresce. This lot is offered in a carved wood frame that is in good condition but in need of gilding.
