His sale, London, Sotheby's, 25 October 1950, lot 202 where acquired by the father of the present owner;
Thence by descent.
Condition
The support consists of a single flat stable panel. There is an L shaped crack approx 10 cm long lower right.
There are some scattered paint losses, visible in the catalogue illustration, and an area of blistering lower right.
The paint surface is under an old dirty varnish.
Inspection under UV light reveals scattered retouching work throughout.
Offered in a modern wood and gold paint frame in fair condition.
