Condition
The old relining is now a little loose though it has not overly flattened the paint surface as the imapsto is well preserved in areas. The paint has, however, become somewhat abraded in the darked tones, for example in the trees in the distance. The paint surface is dirty and under a dicoloured varnish. Sacttered retouchings can be made out to the naked eye, as well as a restored tear of aprox 20 cm lower left. Minor scattered paint losses can be made out upper left, lower left and upper right, as well as some surface scratches. Inspection under UV light confrims these retouchings and reveals further retouchings. Larege passages remain in good condition. Overall the painting would benefit from a clean and from some restorative attention. Offered in a wood and plaster frame in fair condition.
