STRUCTURE
The canvas has been laid on board.
PAINT SURFACE
The painting appears to be in very good condition.
ULTRAVIOLET
Examination under ultraviolet light reveals two minor spots of retouching in the sky, eather side of the central ships. There is furthr minor retouching to abbrassion along the upper edge of the canvas, where it meets the frame.
FRAME
Held in a gilded composite wooden and plaster frame.
