Condition

The panel support is cradled to the reverse. The paint surface is dirty and under a discoloured varnish with some craquelure. Cracks in the paint surface can be made out with the naked eye upper right and to the centre; a knot in the wood had come to the surface centre left. Small infilled paint losses are present for example to the right of Hercules' beard. UV light reveals some further scattered minor retouchings. Overall the painting is dirty and would benefit from a surface clean and a new varnish.
