Condition
STRUCTURE
Both canvases have been lined.
PAINT SURFACE
Both paintings appear to be in good original condition, though both have a discoloured and opaque varnish overall.
ULTRAVIOLET
Examination under ultraviolet light confirms the opacity of the varnish, as a result of a layer of surface dirt and discolouring, but reveals no significant recent retouching to easther canvas.
FRAME
Both held in matching carved and gold painted frames.
