Condition

STRUCTURE The canvas has been lined. PAINT SURFACE The painting appears to be in fair condition. There are a number of minor surface abrasions scattered overall, and there is a thick layer of dirt overall. ULTRAVIOLET Examination under ultraviolet light confirms an opaque layer of discoloured varnish and dirt, below which there are a number of minor retouchings, particularly in the lower left. FRAME Held in a carved and gilded wooden frame. The frame has suffered some damage.
