Condition

STRUCTURE The canvas is unlined. There are two patches to the reverse of the canvas, upper left and lower right, and one small perforation in the upper left. PAINT SURFACE The painting appears to be in good condition, though the paint is slightly rubbed in the lower half of the canvas. There is one small area of resultant paint loss relating to the perforation mentioned above. ULTRAVIOLET Examination under ultraviolet light reveals one small area of retouching half way up the canvas, on the extreme left of the picture. There are a small number of further areas of minor scattered retouching overall. FRAME Held in a gold painted, wooden frame.
