Condition

The canvas has been relined. The paint surface is secure and under a dirty varnish. Scattered retouchings can be made out when inspected with UV light. There are two areas of repaint on the central soldier's clothing and another are upper left. A small scratch can be made outcentre left and a further small restored tear centre left. Offered in a carved and gilt wood frame in fair condition but which has a 3cm thick slip long the inside left edge as it is not the painting's original frame.
