Provenance

Catalogue Note

See note to the previous lot.  Although neither of these drawings is actually stuck onto the back of a playing card, they can clearly be associated with the group of delightful drawings that are, including the two in the previous lot, and those sold in Amsterdam in 2003.  The link is further reinforced by the fact that they were together with the drawings in the previous lot in the Goll van Franckenstein collection, where they had consecutive inventory numbers.
