Description

  • Marco Marcola
  • the massacre of the innocents
  • Point of the brush and brown-gray wash, over some black chalk; a paper alteration to the lower left, a smaller one to the lower right; a very slight sketch of an arm and shoulder in brown ink on the verso; bears numbering in brown ink, verso: 270.

Condition

The large folio sheet has been folded in half vertically, and the lower part of the fold has split. There is also a vertical tear to the left of the upper edge. Some foxing throughout, with some spot stains in the upper half. The surface of the paper is uneven, but this appears to be due to the fact that it is a rough paper, rather than later damage. Overall the condition is fine.
