Description
- Domenico Piola
- Allegory with Faith, Charity and Justice
- oil on panel, unframed
- 9 3/4 by 12 1/4 in.
- 24.8 by 31.2 cm.
Condition
The paint is lifting and flaking horizontally in the upper half and along the lower egde, but appears to be stable at this point; a coat of varnish prevents the flaking from aggravating. The procession of figures at center seems unaffected. Under UV light: inpainting mostly along the lower edge and in a narrow strip at upper left edge. The upper right corner is unvarnished. Unframed.
