Condition
Relined. painting is presentable in its present state. the two foreground figures, still life at left and bed drapery are all very well preserved. background areas, curtains at right side and some areas on the old man show a slight degree of thinness. however, overall the painting is in good state and presents a strong image. ultraviolet light reveals scattered retouches to background areas, mostly at the right side and some in costume of old woman. there are two tiny repaired tears, one in upper background and another in red drapery of boy. a few other small retouches to figures.
