Condition
There are three small tears along the right edge under the repaint.
Under ultraviolet light:
Some repaints in the right upper corner and very small ones in the middle of the right edge.

Catalogue Note
Notre tableau, peint dans les années 1820, fait partie de la période dite de l'île Seguin qui débuta en 1817 et dura une dizaine d'années. A cette époque, Huet faisait ses études dans l'atelier de Deltil, ancien élève de David, qui était situé sur l'île Seguin. Le tableau atteste de l'influence des grands paysagistes anglais, Bonington, les frères Fieldings, etc. sur les artistes romantiques français. Il évoque également les paysages peints à la même époque par Delacroix et Riesener.
