Condition

Original canvas. The painting is slightly more yellowed as the reproduction presented in the catalogue. Requires a cleaning. Many cracks on the background and on the clothes of the character. Small lacks along the upper board and on the right-hand side. Under ultraviolet light: No visible repaints. Original gilt wooden frame.

Catalogue Note

Il s'agit probablement de Rodolphe Hottinguer (1835-1920), fils de Jean-Henri Hottinguer (1803 - 1866, voir le lot précédent) et de Caroline Delessert (1814-1880). Il fut banquier et régent de la Banque de France de 1869 à sa mort.
