  • Cavaliers et paysans sur un chemin à l'entrée d'un village
  • Huile sur toile d'origine

Condition

The painting is in fair overall condition. It has an old relining and it is covered by a uniform and very dirty varnish. We can see the mark of the stretcher from 5 cm to the upper part along which there are restorations. There are two 15 cm oblique restorations in the upper left and right corners. There is a 1 cm diameter paint loss in the centre of the composition and a few scattered restored paint losses in the sky, in the upper part of the bell-tower, on the left side of the bridge, on the figure carrying a basket on the path, and in the foliage, all visible to the naked eye. Some areas in the painting show whitened varnish. UV light: Restorations previously mentioned.
