Catalogue Note
fourth edition of girolamo ruscelli's translation, enlarged and edited by giuseppe rosaccio.
In this edition six entirely new maps have been added, including Rosaccio's twin-hemispherical world map (Shirley, Mapping of the World 217). There are also new maps of the Americas, Europe, Asia and Africa (all copied from Ortelius), and Bernardin Valle's Hungaria which replaces the earlier map of Poland and Hungary. The other maps are chiefly reprinted from the editions of 1561–1574, with retouches and minor additions to show new discoveries.
