a fine set of this monumental and rare work, published at the expense of the publishers Levin and Munksgaard, under the editorship of Arthur Christensen. most of the volumes are presentation copies from the publisher, munskgaard.
"The University Library at Copenhagen possesses some of the oldest and most valuable Avesta and Pahlavi manuscripts preserved to us... This collection was due to two men. Rasmus Rask acquired the greater part in India during his journey in the East in 1816-1823... [with] a considerable addition by the manuscripts which N.L. Westergaard... brought home from his journey in India and Persia in 1841-1844" (introduction).
