Catalogue Note

Sophie Loewe (b.1848), was a pupil of Julius Stockhausen and the daughter of the producer of the Stuttgart Opera; her aunt and namesake was the soprano who appeared in the premieres of Verdi's Ernani and Attila. The poems by Mörike and Mosenthal appear to be unpublished.
