Catalogue Note

The autograph score of this delightful early Salve Regina, preserved in the Berlin Staatsbibliothek, is dated 13 September 1760. The work is one of a number of Latin text settings made by Haydn during his time at Grosswardein (now Oradea, Romania). The present parts appear to be unrecorded in Sherman and Thomas's Thematic Catalogue (1993).
