Catalogue Note

L'amor costante was originally composed as an intermezzo (Rome, 1782) and revised as the dramma giocoso Giulietta ed Armidoro (Dresden, 1790). The present manuscript contains the major part of a lively song for basso buffo, where the "Marchese" exclaims at the delights of Seville, and then expostulates against his ungrateful daughter, ridiculing her voice by singing in falsetto.
