Description

  • Autograph letter signed ("CMvWeber"), to the father of his pupil Julius Benedict
reporting on a successful concert given by Julius, noting that he won the complete approbation of the public as well as their loud applause, observing that he was very pleased with his last rondo, which was very well written, stating that although as a keyboard player, having neglected somewhat the basics, he will probably never quite achieve what he would demand of a performer, he has nevertheless made significant improvements in this area ("...Wenn er auch als Klavierspieler, in den ersten Grundzügen vernachlässigt, schwerlich je ganz das leisten wird was ich von einem solchen verlange, so hat er doch bedeutende Fortschritte auch in diesem Fache gemacht..."), 1 page, 4to (22.7 x 19.1cm), autograph address panel, Dresden, 11 April 1823, light creasing, a few tiny marks
