Description
- Collection of twelve autograph letters signed by Honegger, Falla and d'Indy, to Paul Landormy, the editor of the journal La Victoire, including two by Honegger, one practically an autograph biography of his early years and a list of his compositions, classified under "Mélodies", "Orchestre", "Theatre" and "Musique de Chambre", giving the titles and publishers of 18 works composed up to 1920 and all presently going through the press; he declares that his reaction to impressionism in music takes the form of seeking a strong overall architecture whilst retaining its advanced harmonique language, rather than seeking to return to simplicity like some anti-impressionists, 6 pages, 4to, Zurich 2-10 August 1920;
Falla, Manuel de. Two letters, thanking Landormy for his review of El retablo de Maese Pedro, explaining that it is based on an episode in Don Quixote, and apologising for not answering him earlier, 4 pages, 8vo, Granada and Palma, December 1923-24 June 1933; Indy, Vincent d'. Eight letters about La Légende de Saint-Christophe, the Third Symphony and the Poëme des rivages, and declining to collaborate on music theory, 18 pages, 8vo, Paris, Bordeaux and Agay, 1910-1927

Catalogue Note
