Description

  • Autograph manuscript of the "Partita" for two pianos, in three movements, each movement signed and inscribed on the title ("Georges Auric")
notated in blue-black ink on three four-stave systems per page, with some heavy deletions, the music extended into the margins in many places, in three separate gatherings ("Partita/ I [...III]"), the Stichvorlage marked for the printer in pencil, with the publisher's number ("M.E6944") in ink on the first title, paginated in crayon (1-20, 1-9, 1-14), 46 pages in all, including autograph titles, folio (35 x 27cms), 18-stave paper, dated by Auric at the end of the manuscript: July 1953-January 1955, [1955]

The Partita for two pianos is one of Auric's most  important works (Jeremy Drake in TNG). .
