Catalogue Note
Prince Piotr Vyazemsky (1792-1878) was a leading poet of the Russian Romantic movement. He was famous as a friend of Pushkin, who quoted from Vyazemsky in Eugene Onegin. We have not traced this poem among Vyazemsky's published works: it is not in the 12-volume complete edition published in the 1890s.
