8vo (183 x 119mm.), 143 leaves (of 144, f6 supplied in facsimile), 29 lines plus headline, Gothic letter, printed in red and black throughout, title-page with woodcut device of Lucantonio Giunta, full-page woodcut on [*]2r depicting the Dominican Order, full-page woodcut on [*]4v depicting a procession of monks, full-page woodcut on l6v of the Crucifixion, smaller woodcut illustrations and initials, printed music, final leaf with woodcut device of Emericus printed in red (otherwise blank), contemporary blind-tooled calf over wooden boards, single clasp, vellum endleaves, 5pp. of manuscript music on vellum at end (dated 1541), fragments of a Latin manuscript on vellum (German, early fifteenth-century) in binding, lacking f6, f5 with marginal tear skilfully repaired, binding repaired and rebacked (retaining original spine)
