Catalogue Note
Autograph material by Nancy Storace is of the greatest rarity. The recipient of this letter was the actor and singer John Pritt Harley (1786-1858), who often performed at Drury Lane and Covent Garden. In 1816 he played opposite Edmund Kean. To judge from the insistent tone of the letter, Nancy Storace was clearly in some emotional turmoil at the time, a reflection, no doubt of her complicated private life.
