Description

  • Containing autograph musical quotations signed by Vaughan Williams, Holst and others at the Incorporated Society of Musicians Festival at Birmingham 1913, including Vaughan Williams (four bars from an unidentified work), Holst (the opening theme of Beni Mora), Havergal Brian (from "Doctor Merryheart", on the day of the premiere), Balfour Gardiner ("Cargoes"), Julius Harrison ("Down Among The Dead Men"), William Wallace, G.R. Sinclair (rebus of "BACH"), Edgar Bainton ("The Cap & Bells"), Harry Keyser, Monk Gould ("The Curfew"), and entries by Albert Sammons and William Watson, 14 pages, oblong 8vo (c.16 x 19.5cms), in the album of Margaret Akeroyd, embroidered cloth covers, the Vaughan Williams quotation misdated, Birmingham, 1-3 January 1913
