Catalogue Note

This pair of bronze groups are taken from the original sculptures ordered by Jules Hardouin-Mansart for the park at the Château de Marly. They were later transported to the Jardin des Tuileries and are now in the sculpture collections in the Musée du Louvre. The model is rare compared to the celebrated "Marly" horses so often found on similar bronze bases.
