Cabochon ruby and diamond ring, JAR, Paris

The sugarloaf cabochon ruby weighing approximately 16.30 carats, set within a diamond-set surround, with diamond-set shank, mounted in platinum, size 3¼, signed JAR, Paris, French assay mark.   With signed box with monogram LMS.

Very good condition with gentle wear to the mounting. Please see AGL report # CS 40590 stating the ruby to be Burmese with no heat enhancement. The highly domed ruby is a richly saturated medium pinkish red and moderately included. Minute cavities to the top and a small open fissure to the underside. Set with numerous single-cut diamonds weighing approximately .90 carat. The single-cut diamonds are approximately near colorless, VVS-VS clarity. Due to the shank being continuously set with diamonds, this ring would be very difficult to size.
