- Sapphire, diamond, emerald and platinum
The oval cabochon star sapphire weighing 40.15 carats, framed by pear-shaped diamonds weighing approximately 5.40 carats, pear-shaped emeralds and pear-shaped sapphires, mounted in platinum, size 7, illustrated unmounted.
Condition
Accompanied by AGL report no. CS 41010 stating that the star sapphire is of Burmese origin, heat enhancement: none. The AGL report also states that the strength of the star sapphire is strong and that the quality of the star is very good. The accompanying ring mounting, which is not pictured in the catalogue, is designed to surround the star sapphire with a row of 14 pear-shaped diamonds (points pointing outward) approximately H-J color and SI1 clarity, which is surrounded by a row of 14 pear-shaped emeralds of medium green color and good clarity, which is then surrounded by a row of 14 pear-shaped sapphires of medium deep blue and good clarity. The domed mounting is large, reaching from knuckle to knuckle on the finger, and measures approximately 1 5/8 x 1 3/8 inches. In good condition.
