  • Ruby, diamond, silver and gold
The square emerald-cut ruby weighing approximately 4.00 carats, old mine and rose-cut diamonds weighing a total of approximately 8.25 carats, mounted in gold and silver.

Condition

Accompanied by AGL report no. CS 41091 stating that the ruby is of Burmese origin; heat enhancement: none. Rich medium red color and minor inclusions; an elongated chip to the girdle along one side and an additional smaller chip on a step facet at another corner. Abrasions to some of the facet junctions. Set with 30 old mine-cut diamonds and numerous smaller old mine- and rose-cut diamonds ranging in color from L-O color and predominantly SI clarity, with a few I clarity examples. Three tiny rose-cut diamonds missing from the ornate scrolling at the gallery of the brooch, but in good condition overall.
