- Diamond, sapphire, amethyst and platinum
The diamond brooch set with old European-cut diamonds weighing approximately 2.25 carats, mounted in platinum; the amethyst and diamond brooch set with calibré-cut amethysts and old European-cut and single-cut diamonds weighing approximately 1.60 carats, mounted in platinum; and the sapphire and diamond brooch set with marquise-shaped, old European-cut and single-cut diamonds weighing approximately 1.00 carat, mounted in platinum.
Condition
The all-diamond brooch set with 107 old European-cut diamonds approximately H-J color and VS-SI clarity. The amethyst and diamond brooch set with 7 calibré-cut amethysts (two are slightly chipped) and 37 old European and single-cut diamonds approximately I-J color and SI clarity. The sapphire and diamond brooch set with 2 marquise-shaped and 28 old European and single-cut diamonds approximately I-J color and VS-SI clarity. All pieces in good condition. This piece was a present from Arnold H Goss to his wife around 1930. Mr. Goss was Secretary of Buick around 1914, President of Chevrolet Motor Cars, President of Kelvinator (the world's largest maker of electric refrigerators in the 1910s) and renowned cattle rancher.
