Description

Designed as a series of graduated openwork garland-style links, studded with 14 pearls of various colors measuring approximately 7.9 to 4.0 mm., decorated with numerous old European-cut, single-cut and round diamonds, mounted in platinum, length 17 inches.  With fitted box.

Condition

Good condition with gentle wear to the mounting. The white, gray, golden and taupe colored round to button-shaped pearls present varying degrees of pink, purple and green overtones, good to very good luster and minor blemishing; several examples bear light ringing at the sides. The pearls are mostly likely natural in origin but have not been tested. The single- and old European-cut diamonds are approximately G-H-I color, VS-SI clarity with some I clarity examples. The rose-cut diamonds are decorative in quality. Total diamond weight approximately 12.50 carats. Please note there are no modern round-cut diamonds as suggested by the catalogue description. Indistinct numbering on the central link, possibly 18515. Elements to the mounting suggest that the piece once came with fittings for wear as a head ornament. With French Import mark (Bacchus head) on clasp.
