Description
- Buccellati
The articulated band designed as foliate motifs, composed of square segments set with 5 amber cabochons, connected by stylized links, length 7¾ inches, signed M. Buccellati, Italy, numbered 96.
Condition
Good general condition with light scratching and nicking to the gold; areas of discoloration to the front and back with minor evidence of soldering visible on the back. The 5 medium orange amber cabochons, measuring approximately 11.7 by 11.9 mm, present minor color zoning and eye-visible inclusions. Please note that the stones are citrine, not amber as stated in the catalogue.
In response to your inquiry, we are pleased to provide you with a general report of the condition of the property described above. Since we are not professional conservators or restorers, we urge you to consult with a restorer or conservator of your choice who will be better able to provide a detailed, professional report. Prospective buyers should inspect each lot to satisfy themselves as to condition and must understand that any statement made by Sotheby's is merely a subjective qualified opinion. Our presale estimates reflect this assumption.
