TWO CULTURED PEARL, GEM-SET AND DIAMOND BROOCHES

The first brooch designed as a rabbit set with a baroque-shaped cultured pearl measuring approximately 26.22 x 12.99 x 13.70 mm, decorated to the head and limbs with brilliant-cut yellow diamonds, highlighted by emerald-set eyes, grasping onto a flower head centring a button-shaped pearl measuring approximately 10.88 x 4.00 mm, the petals set with circular-cut diamonds, the diamonds together weighing approximately 2.00 carats; the second brooch set with a baroque-shaped cultured pearl measuring approximately 27.60 x 15.33 x 12.59 mm, modelled as two restful cats, decorated with a rose-cut diamond-set collar, the tail, ears and whiskers of polished gold, enhanced by sapphire-set eyes, mounted in 18 karat yellow gold. Colour and Clarity: In our opinion, the two principle cultured pearls are of baroque shape and cream white colour. The pearl on 'kitten' brooch has slight bumpy surface upon close check, good lustre. The pearl on 'rabbit' brooch has minor bumpy surface and a coloured surface crack, not noticeable from distance when worn. The other pearl on the same brooch is probably of freshwater origin, button-shape and white colour, with fair lustre. The yellow diamonds are in medium to intense saturation; near-colourless old-cut diamonds are about I to J colours, VS2 to SI clarity. Condition: Whimsical look, both brooches have signs of wear to the mounts, otherwise in good condition.
