Emerald and diamond brooch, circa 1940

Description

Set at the centre with an octagonal step-cut emerald within an open work floral motif set with single-cut, marquise-shaped and baguette diamonds, mounted in platinum.

Condition

Tested as platinum. Emerald a medium light yellowish green, typical crystal inclusions, a couple surface reaching, minor abrasions to girdle and culet slightly off centre. Estimated to weigh approximately 6.40 carats. Estimated total diamond weight approximately 1.50 carats, bright and lively stones. Secure clasp. Signs of little to normal wear to the metal, scratches consistent with use. In good condition.
