Description

The black canvas bag with carrying handle, the clasp and tag decorated with black enamel the wooden baton closure applied with black lacquer, opening to reveal a taupe leather interior and mirror, measurements approximately: length 270mm, width 150mm, depth from 25mm to 60mm, stamped Cartier Made in France, Cartier Paris box; and a chestnut suede bag with gold clasp,  opening to reveal a brown leather interior and mirror, measurements approximately: length 235mm, width 152mm, depth from 25mm to 50mm, maker's marks, British hallmarks for London, 1936, case Cartier London.

Condition

Canvas Bag: Interior stamped Cartier Made in France, light scratches to polished surfaces, canvas in very good condition. Chestnut Suede: Stamped JC for Jaques Cartier, British hallmarks for 9 carat gold, 1936. Later recovered accompanied by original suede bag. Both in very good condition.
